As the electricity distribution provider, our primary responsibility involves operating and maintaining the lines that connect power from transmission lines right to your doorstep. In the event of a PSPS, any interruption in transmission will lead to the power being cut off to these distribution lines. The aim is to minimize any potential risk or danger during extreme weather conditions. Once the situation stabilizes and it is safe to do so, AltaLink and FortisAlberta will mobilize crews to patrol the lines and restore power as safely, quickly, and efficiently as possible.
