Relentless
Reliability

Night and day, our team is always working on building, maintaining and upgrading our system to be even safer and more reliable today than it was yesterday so you can carry on with business (and life) as usual.

Proactive
troubleshooting

Our control centre in Airdrie provides visibility of our entire distribution system. This helps us determine where, when and why power outages occur, allowing us to restore power quickly and make preventative upgrades where possible. We’re also preparing for the future by enhancing energy efficiency, upgrading our infrastructure and applying innovative technology to strengthen the resiliency of our distribution system.

Responsive
service

Our Power Line Technicians live and work locally in the communities we serve throughout Alberta. This means that the necessary people and equipment are always on deck – primed and ready to respond to keep your home, business or farm fully powered. Our centralized Control Centre in Airdrie gives us the ability, in many cases, to remotely restore your power in a matter of seconds.

Robust storm
management

We are able to mobilize up to 350 lineworkers throughout Alberta for robust storm response, as needed. We offer transparent outage management, including real-time updates through our mobile app and online reporting. Our distribution system is among the most reliable in Canada, with a System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) average in the top 25 per cent.

Safe and reliable
delivery

We safely and reliably deliver power to over 550,000 residential, farm and business customers. Our highly-trained people are empowered to do right by our customers—and by our company. We regularly measure the satisfaction of our customers through quarterly, third-party customer satisfaction surveys. While our current 90 per cent customer satisfaction rate exceeds the industry benchmark, we remain focused on raising it even higher.

Empowering your community

It may not always be obvious, but we’re working in your community every day. We’re Alberta-proud and as we operate across the province, we believe in having a positive impact where we live and work.

Green Up Grant
Greening up your community

Our greenUp grant program provides students in elementary and junior high schools the resources to enhance the environment in their communities. This year, we awarded $1,000 greenUp grants to 24 schools. The grants were used to fund amazing projects, such as students working with local farmers and the addition of spin bikes to a classroom to power students’ devices.

ag-seed
Supporting local agriculture

Every year we proudly present the North American Seed Fair. This event showcases more than 25 classes of Pedigreed Seed including Open Classes and Junior Classes. It’s one of the oldest Seed Fairs in Western Canada and the aim is to support products and innovations that can directly affect, and improve, agricultural production.

Electrical safety awareness in schools

Every year, our ZAP Program teaches more than 4,500 Grade 5 students how to live and play safe around electricity. By teaching kids about safety as part of their science program, we hope to prevent future accidents before they happen.
