We encourage new graduates to explore their options in the electricity industry. We strive to offer opportunities that support the development of their professional skills.
We look for students who are flexible and eager to learn. Our student opportunities are posted on our current openings page as well with various post-secondary institutions throughout Alberta, including the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, the University of Alberta, SAIT and NAIT. Our representatives attend career fairs around the province to provide a forum for students to learn more about us.
FortisAlberta supports the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) for high school students in Alberta. For additional details, Guidance Counsellors may email recruitment@fortisalberta.com.
Our Co-op program provides post-secondary students with opportunities throughout the year in different disciplines including engineering, commerce and accounting.
We support new engineers through an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) program, which helps recent engineering graduates gain the professional requirements and practical experience required to achieve their Professional Engineer (P. Eng) status. Our EIT opportunities are posted on our current openings page.
As part of the program, FortisAlberta EITs have the opportunity to work in a number of departments, and they are assigned a mentor to ensure that the assigned work meets the P. Eng development requirements.
