FortisAlberta honoured with national industry awards for innovation, reliability and safety
Nov 26, 2025, 17:17 PMFortisAlberta was honoured to receive four prestigious awards from industry association, Electricity Canada, at their 2025 Powering Partnerships conference held Nov. 25 in Vancouver.
Among these honours, FortisAlberta became the first three-time winner of the Resiliency and Reliability Award, reflecting our leadership in reliability, asset management and outage communications. Our solar interconnections project, which streamlines the connection process for our customers, was recognized with Electricity Canada’s Centre of Excellence for improving operational efficiency and enhancing the customer experience.
The Powering Progress Award recognizes our comprehensive approach to wildfire mitigation, which has set a new industry benchmark for environmental and social responsibility. Finally, FortisAlberta Power Line Technician, Blake Heidmiller, and Dispatchers, Dian McFarlane and Nancy Alexandre received the Lifesaving Award for their actions, ensuring the safety of community members as a downed, live power line trapped their vehicle during a severe August storm in Brooks.
