Our Company

Power on

We deliver safe and reliable electricity service to more than 60 per cent of Alberta’s total electricity distribution network. That’s electricity to 553,000 residential, farm and business customers like you from across central and southern Alberta. We operate in 200 communities with more than 123,000 kilometres of power lines.

We may build electrical lines and poles, install transformers and read meters, but really what we do is make every day easier for you. Your safety and our reliability drive everything we do.

As an Alberta-based company, we touch the lives of many people as a neighbour and a business partner. Here are some of the ways we power, and empower, communities.

  • Alberta-based, with 55 service locations and more than 350 power line technicians, ready to be mobilized at a moment’s notice
  • 24/7 power outage response and restoration
  • Advanced technology detects and restores power outages automatically
  • Specially trained technicians equipped to maintain power lines while your power stays on
  • Free mobile app to report and see detailed outage information
  • FortisAlberta staffed Customer Contact Centre located in Airdrie
  • We read the meter for you
  • Your choice of energy retailer options
  • Investments in your community that make a difference
